Sex differences in ultra-triathlon performance at increasing race distance There are some guesses in the literature that women can surpass the men on long to very long stretches.We have compared the performance of Triathlen over the simple Ironman route (Ironman Hawaii) as well as twice the Ironman route between 1999 and 2011. Both on Ironman Hawaii like the double Ironman route remained unchanged for the annual top 3 athletes.However, the gender difference on twice the route was greater.
