Participation and performance trends of East-African runners in Swiss half-marathons and marathons held between 2000 and 2010 We examined the participation and performance of East African runners on half marathons and marathons in Switzerland from 2000 to 2010. During this period, the number of Kenyan and Ethiopian finishers remained stable while the number of runners of other nationalities for men and women over half marathon and marathon increased. In the half-marathon, the top ten African women and top three and top ten African men were faster than the corresponding non-African runners. In the marathon, however, there were no differences between the top three African men and women compared to the non-African runners.
In half marathon like Marathon, there was no difference in the age of the best performance between African and non-African runners. The whole work can be found under https://bmcsportscimedrehabil.biomedCentral.com/articles/10.1186/2052-1847-5-24
