Leap year marathon

On February 29, 2024, the first leap year marathon took place in Zurich as part of the 4th Hardhof Marathon.

The marathon was organized by Christian Marti.

It was Beat Knechtle’s 5th marathon since the start of the year and marathon number 434.

The endurance athlete and doctor from Eastern Switzerland takes part in the toughest long-distance competitions in the world on foot, by bike and by swimming and is the first person in the world to have completed more than 300 Ironman distances in competition.

re-premiere of the Mostindien Marathon

On February 20, 2024, the preview of the Mostindien Marathon took place.

This marathon will be held a total of 5 times as part of the Eastern Switzerland Marathon Days 2024.

As the crowds for this preview were very large, organizer Christian Marti had to stagger the start times.

It was marathon number 433 for Beat Knechtle.

The 100 Marathon Club Switzerland has updated its statistics as at the end of 2023.

Pandian Sivabalan from India is in the lead with 761 marathons, ahead of Marti Christian with 556 and Beat Knechtle with 429 marathons.

The ‘50 et 100 km des Mines réjouies Travers-Mines d’Asphalte’ took place on February 17th.
