Does the muscle mass influence the mileage?

Does Muscle Mass Affect Running Times in Male Long-distance Master Runners? It is generally assuming that older runners such as master runners (over 35 years old) the age-related degradation of muscle mass adversely affects the endurance performance. At half-marathon, marathon and 100km runners, we examined the relationship between muscle mass, body fat and competition time. If the influence of muscle mass, body fat and training were examined for maturities in a multivariance analysis, the body fat for half marathon, marathon and 100 km was a crucial variable. For half marathon and marathon, the running speed in training was crucial, for 100 km the weekly running kilometers.

The Marathon des SABLES in numbers from 2003-2012

Participation and performance trends in multistage ultramarathons–the ‘Marathon des Sables’ 2003- 2012

What distinguishes marathon runners of ultramarathon runner?

Ultramarathon runners: nature or nurture? An overview of existing literature for ultramarathon runners shows that these runners are in 80% men, typically 45 years old, achieve their best mileage between 30 and 49 years in men and 30 to 54 years in women. It can be assumed that the ultramarathon runners get over the marathon on long distances, because ultra-raptures have a significantly higher number of completed marathons than marathon runners. However, marathon runners have a much faster personal best time in the marathon as a UltraLauer.

Comparison between men and women at freistic swimming

Women achieve peak freestyle swim speed at earlier ages than men We examined the age of the best swimming performance for freestyle. For men, for 100 m and 200 m, the fastest times were 22-23 years, for 400 meters and 800 m with 24-24 years and for 50 m and 1500 m at 26-27 years.

For women, the best times were achieved with 20-21 years for all routes except 800 m, there was the age of the best performance at 26-27 years. With increasing route length, the difference between the sexes decreased with 13.1 ± 1.3% for 50 m, 13.2 ± 0.9% for 100 m, 10.8 ± 0.9% for 200 m, 7.9 ± 1.3% for 400 m and 4.2 ± 2.0% for 800m. For 1500 m, however, the difference increased again to 6.4 ± 2.3%. Male swimmers cross the English Channel faster than female swimmers Between 1875 and 2011, 1,606 swimmer (1,120 men and 486 women) have successfully passed through the sleeve channel between Dover and Calais. If you compare the swimming times of all women (796.3 ± 188.7 min) with the floating times of all men (815.4 ± 169.4 min), no difference was present. The fastest float time until the end of 2011 was 417 min for men and 445 min for women with a difference of 6.7%.If you take the three fastest times for men and women so far, there is a difference of 8.9 ± 2.3%. In the last 36 years, at least three men and three women have passed through the channel per year. The time of men (564.3 ± 63.8 min) was 12.5 ± 9.6% faster than the time of women (602.1 ± 58.7 min) and did not change over the years.
